Stressed out staring out into piles of work labeled with deadlines? Having trouble sleeping at night with the feeling of emptiness that comes with the silence? I’ve got the perfect solution for your problems.
As a rising senior in High School, it is college application season for me and many of my friends, and to say the least, we are stressed. In no situation is stress ever good on your physical and mental health, so all of us have our own ways to cope with it. Some of my friends take naps, some of my friends open a book or turn on the T.V., but I hit up my favorite spot on the internet, the LO-FI cafe.
Introduced to me near the start of quarantine, I quickly fell in love with the simplistic beat and mesmerizing productions of these songs. Though most of them have no singer, they don’t lose to songs with one in terms of how they pull me out of the world for a few minutes, taking away all the baggage on my back. I listen to this genre of music every single day! From the moment I wake up while I’m getting ready for the day to studying during the day for the SAT to sleeping to the beat of these songs. LO-FI has become a part of my daily life and a part of who I am.
If you are open-minded and would like to be introduced to a new world you haven’t been to, here are my ten suggestions for LO-FI songs you can start your adventure with.
