September 13th, 2021: A date that marked an attempt to return back to normalcy. It has now almost been a week since the first day back, and I want to talk about the experience over the days.
Monday:
The first day back. My school allowed seniors to attend school at 11, which was nice to extend one extra day of not having to wake up early. Commuting there, reminded me of the days before quarantine where I had to commute an hour daily, and I felt the pressure. Despite the pressure, I was excited to be back to see my friends.
Tuesday:
The second day. I found it surprising that I woke up early without any trouble and felt awake. I had an early class that day which means I had to wake up even earlier to get to school on time. The longer classes felt like centuries to me for that I haven’t had them in so long. I do miss remote learning a lot as I found myself to be more successful in that format but I do like the feeling of going out every day.
Wednesday:
This was the day before the short one-day off we have, which only made time feel longer. At this point, I feel that I’ve adjusted to the in-person learning already except for the stressful homework load after a long commute home.
Friday:
This marked the first week back to school, and I was relieved that it was Friday, at least it meant that I could escape the commute for two days and focus on the things I wanted to do. I completed homework ahead of time and I was able to watch shows, listen to albums, and spend a little more time with family. It was a week.
